Why does my iPhone show an “Important Battery Message” or “Unknown Part”?

You just secured an iPhone from Revendo – everything works perfectly. However, when you check the settings, you notice a message, for example:

"Important Battery Message: The authenticity of this battery could not be verified." or "Unknown Part" in the "Parts & Service History" section.

This can be unsettling at first. These notices are possible with refurbished iPhones and are not a sign of a performance or safety issue.

In this article, we explain what the message means – and why your iPhone still works reliably.

Warum zeigt mein iPhone die Meldung „Wichtige Batteriemeldung“ oder „Unbekanntes Teil“ an?

What Does This Message Mean?

Apple displays these notices when a component – for example, the battery – cannot be clearly linked to a repair history documented by Apple.

This can happen, among other reasons, if an iPhone had its battery replaced before resale but the replacement was not directly registered by Apple.
In this case, iOS automatically marks the component as “Unknown” – regardless of the actual quality or functionality of the battery.

Important to know:
🔍 The message does not say anything about the quality, safety, or performance of the battery.
It is purely informational and technically driven.

Does This Affect My iPhone’s Performance?

In short: No.

Your iPhone will continue to work reliably and be suitable for everyday use:

  • 🔋 Battery life is not affected
  • 🔒 Security and stability remain fully intact
  • 🛡️ Warranty & return policy at Revendo remain unchanged

The only possible difference:
➡️ On certain models, the exact battery health may no longer be displayed in iOS.

Why Isn’t the Battery Simply Replaced?

At Revendo, we place great value on quality, transparency, and sustainability.

It is possible that we receive iPhones already equipped with new, high-quality OEM batteries (equivalent to the original). These batteries:

  • meet high functional quality standards
  • are carefully tested during technical inspection
  • work perfectly in daily use

For ecological and sustainable reasons, such batteries are not replaced as a precaution if there is no technical defect.
This helps us avoid unnecessary electronic waste and meaningfully extend the devices’ lifespan.

Which iPhone Models Are Affected?

In principle, this message can appear on all iPhone models.
Where it is displayed depends on the model and iOS version:

iPhone 11 or older:

  • Battery notice or “Unknown Part” directly in the settings

Newer models (iOS 15.2 or later):

  • Settings → General → About → Parts & Service History

Conclusion: No Cause for Concern

If your iPhone shows a message like “Unknown Part” or “Important Battery Message,” it means:

  • ✔️ The device has been inspected and works reliably
  • ✔️ The battery is technically flawless
  • ✔️ Performance and safety remain intact
  • ✔️ Warranty & return policy at Revendo still apply

And if you’re still unsure:
👉 You can test your iPhone calmly for 14 days at Revendo.
If it doesn’t suit you, just send it back – no risk, no hassle.
