FAQ iMac

Are you thinking about buying a iMac used but are still undecided? Let's examine the advantages and considerations when buying.

What does Revendo deliver with the iMac?

Our iMacs are delivered without a keyboard and mouse. This is because many of our customers already have a mouse and keyboard and we don't want them lying around unused. We hope you understand this decision. At the same time, we want to offer you the flexibility to choose accessories according to your own preferences and offer a large selection in our accessories category.

What iMacs are currently available?

Since its launch in 1998, Apple has released about 50 different iMac models.
As of March 6, 2025, the latest iMac model is the 24-inch model with Apple's M4 chip, which was introduced on October 28, 2024. This iMac is available in two configurations:
Base model: Equipped with an 8-core CPU and GPU, 16 GB RAM, and two Thunderbolt 4 ports.
Upgraded model: Features a 10-core CPU and GPU, 16GB of RAM (upgradable to 32GB), four Thunderbolt 4 ports, and Gigabit Ethernet.
Both configurations offer storage options ranging from 256GB to 2TB SSDs and are available in seven colors: green, yellow, orange, pink, purple, blue and silver.

How do the iMacs differ?

Since 2019, Apple has released several iMac models that differ mainly in terms of processor, performance and design. The iMac 27" (2019-2020) was the last Intel-based model with up to a 10-core Intel i9 processor and a 5K Retina display. In 2021, Apple introduced the iMac 24" with M1 chip, which was available for the first time in a slimmer case and seven colors. It offered a 4.5K Retina display and up to 16GB RAM. In 2023, the iMac 24" with M3 chip followed, which further increased performance and supported up to 24GB RAM. The latest iMac 24" with M4 chip (2024) brings even faster performance, up to 32GB RAM and Thunderbolt 4 ports. All current iMacs rely on the modern, flat design and are available in various colors.

What are older Intel-based models still used for?

Older Intel-based iMacs are still usable for many purposes despite their age. They continue to offer solid performance for everyday office work, web browsing and office programs. Models with powerful Intel i7 or i9 processors and dedicated GPUs are also well suited for photo editing, graphic design and even 4K video editing. They are also a reliable choice for music production with programs such as Logic Pro or Ableton Live.

When did the last iMac Pro come out?

The last iMac Pro was introduced on December 14, 2017, and was available until March 2021 before Apple officially discontinued it. It was the most powerful iMac model of its time, equipped with Intel Xeon processors (up to 18 cores), up to 256 GB of RAM, a Radeon Pro Vega GPU, and a 5K Retina display.

Since then, Apple has not released a direct successor to the iMac Pro. Instead, the company has focused on powerful Apple Silicon chips in regular iMacs and the Mac Studio as an alternative for professional users.
