What do I need to do before selling my iMac?

First, back up your data, for example using Time Machine. Then sign out of iCloud, iMessage, and "Find My," remove any firmware password, and reset the device to factory settings or reinstall macOS. Without a deactivated activation lock, we cannot purchase the device.

How is the purchase price for my used iMac calculated?

The price is based on the current market value, the model, the chip (Apple M or Intel), the RAM, the SSD/hard drive size, and the screen size, as well as the optical and technical condition. Existing signs of use are directly factored into the evaluation to provide you with a fair offer.

Do I receive the full amount calculated for me on the homepage when selling?

The price calculated online is an estimate based on your information. After receipt, our technicians will physically inspect your device. If the condition differs from the description, you will receive a new, binding offer.

How quickly will I receive my money after selling the iMac?

As soon as your iMac has arrived with us and has been successfully inspected, the payment is usually made within 2 to 5 business days via bank transfer. Alternatively, you can choose a voucher or, if you drop it off at a store (with a 10% deduction), opt for a cash payment.

Why is 10% deducted for cash payment?

The 10% deduction for cash payments in our stores is to cover the increased administrative effort and the provision of cash on site. To receive the full purchase price, we recommend the convenient payment via bank transfer or as a voucher.

How can I decline an offer?

If the price changes after our technical inspection, we will send you a new offer by email. You can simply decline it. In this case, we will return your device to you free of charge and insured.

Who pays for the shipping when selling?

Shipping to Revendo is free for you. You will receive a shipping label from us for the post office, or you can use the convenient pick@home service, where the post office picks up the package directly from you.

Can I drop off my iMac directly at a store?

Yes, you can personally drop off your iMac at any of our stores (e.g., in Basel, Zurich, Bern, or Lucerne). Our on-site experts can usually evaluate the device immediately and provide you with an offer.

What happens to my data?

Your security is a priority. All data carriers are professionally erased or overwritten with certified procedures. If a storage device is defective and cannot be erased, it will be physically destroyed.

How do I cancel my sale?

You can cancel your sale at any time as long as the process is not yet complete. Simply contact us by email with your order number. We will send your device back to you free of charge, or you can pick it up at a store.

Can I drop off devices for disposal?

Yes, Revendo is an official collection point for electronic waste. We accept all electronic devices for free and proper recycling, even if they no longer have resale value.
