The main difference between a screen protector and a protective glass lies in the materials and the protection they offer. A screen protector is made of thin plastic and mainly protects against scratches and minor scrapes. It is flexible but not particularly resistant to impacts or falls. Protective glass, on the other hand, especially tempered glass, is much thicker and more stable. Here are the steps to properly apply a protective glass to a smartphone:

- Cleaning: Clean the screen thoroughly with the included cleaning cloth and a microfiber cloth. Any dirt or dust can cause bubbles or bumps under the glass.
- Remove dust: Use a dust removal sticker or adhesive pad to ensure that no small particles remain on the screen.
- Alignment: Carefully position the protective glass over the screen, paying attention to cutouts for the speaker and camera to ensure perfect alignment.
- Placement: Once the glass is correctly aligned, slowly place it on the display. The glass will attract itself through static adhesion.
- Remove air bubbles: If air bubbles appear, carefully press them away from the center outwards using a cloth or a plastic tool.

Removing a protective glass is relatively easy if you proceed carefully:

Lift the edge: Use a soft plastic card or your fingernail to gently lift one of the edges of the glass.
Peel slowly: Once the edge has come loose, slowly and evenly peel the glass away from the screen. Work gently so as not to break the glass.
Remove residue: If adhesive residue remains after removal, you can carefully remove it with a mild cleaning agent and a microfiber cloth.

Tempered glass is hardened glass that has been made particularly resistant through a special thermal or chemical process. It is robust and offers excellent protection against scratches, impacts and breakage. Unlike normal glass, it does not break into sharp splinters, but into small, rounded pieces, minimizing the risk of injury.
