On the iPad Pro (2024), the difference between standard glass and nano-textured glass lies primarily in the type of display surface and its impact on use. Standard glass is glossy and highly reflective, providing brilliant images with high brightness and strong contrast—ideal for media consumption and viewing HDR content. However, it can cause distracting reflections in direct light, and fingerprints are more visible.

Nano-textured glass, on the other hand, has a matte surface created using a special, nanometer-precise etching process. This significantly reduces reflections and glare, which is particularly pleasant in bright environments or when doing creative work—such as drawing or writing. It has a paper-like feel, but offers slightly lower brightness and contrast compared to standard glass. Nano-textured glass is also more sensitive to cleaning and should only be maintained with the included polishing cloth.
