When it was introduced in 2019, the iMac set new standards in image quality, computing performance, and expandability—and thanks to modular upgrades, it remains a future-proof choice for creative professionals, developers, and demanding users.

At its center is the stunning 27-inch Retina 5K display with a resolution of 5120 x 2880 pixels, support for one billion colors, the P3 color gamut, and a brightness of 500 nits. The result: razor-sharp details, vibrant colors, and excellent image quality—ideal for professional photo editing, 4K video editing, or immersive media experiences.

Depending on the configuration, the iMac is powered by a 6-core Intel Core i5 processor with up to 4.6 GHz Turbo Boost or, optionally, an 8-core Intel Core i9 for particularly demanding tasks. Combined with 8 GB DDR4 RAM (expandable to up to 64 GB) and a fast Fusion Drive or SSD storage with up to 2 TB capacity, the iMac offers enormous flexibility for a wide range of work requirements.

The iMac is also excellently equipped when it comes to graphics performance: Depending on the model variant, it comes with a Radeon Pro 570X, 575X, or 580X graphics card, each with dedicated VRAM—and optionally even a Radeon Pro Vega 48 for maximum graphics performance in 3D rendering, video editing, or complex visualizations.

The integrated FaceTime HD camera, stereo speakers, 3.5 mm headphone jack, four USB 3 ports, two Thunderbolt 3 ports (USB-C), and an SDXC card reader complete the package. The Thunderbolt interfaces can also be used to connect an external 5K display or two 4K displays, making the iMac ideal as a workstation for creatives.

Wireless connections are reliable and fast thanks to Wi-Fi (802.11ac) and Bluetooth 4.2. The package includes the Magic Keyboard and the intuitive Magic Mouse 2—optionally also available with a numeric keypad or Trackpad.

The iMac runs macOS Catalina but can be upgraded to newer macOS versions, providing access to current security features and the broad Apple ecosystem, with apps such as Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro, as well as built-in tools like Safari, Pages, Keynote, and FaceTime.
