The Huawei P20 also offers a 24 MP selfie camera with AI beauty features and a 3D portrait mode. The result is selfies with natural tones, fine facial details, and realistic 3D lighting settings. The Kirin 970 chipset with a dedicated NPU installed in the Huawei P20 series makes photography effortless. AI-supported scene and object recognition can identify 19 different subjects and select the appropriate settings for each moment. A highly advanced feature in Huawei's camera system is predictive 4D focus. In this mode, the camera predicts the subject's movement and focuses on it with extreme efficiency, keeping moving elements sharp at all times. Also new to the Huawei P20 series is AI-assisted shot composition, which makes intelligent suggestions for composing group shots and landscapes. Furthermore, Huawei AIS (AI Image Stabilization) stabilizes handheld night and long-exposure shots, delivering sharp, shake-free images—even without a tripod (with an exposure time of up to eight seconds). Videos also benefit from this, as the Huawei P20 series devices support six-axis stabilization and slow motion at 960 frames per second (fps) for clear and detailed shots. Huawei developed its own filter recommendations for the Huawei P20 series, which are displayed in real time based on object and scene recognition. The processing speed is three to four times faster than other apps. In collaboration with Google, the Huawei P20 series also enables the use of Google ARCore for advanced AI features. The Huawei P20 features a 5.8-inch Huawei FullView display, with an ultra-thin bezel and an impressive screen-to-body ratio. The display blends seamlessly into the overall design, and its rounded edges ensure a comfortable grip.
