Earth Day 2026. What you can do🌍

On April 22, over a billion people around the world celebrate Earth Day. Since 1970. In more than 190 countries. And yet most of us don’t have a concrete plan for what that means in our daily lives.

We don’t always either. But we have an idea.

Earth Day 2026. Was du tun kannst

What exactly is Earth Day?

Earth Day was established in 1970 in the USA, originally as a protest against pollution and reckless resource use. Today it is the largest civilian environmental day in the world and has a new theme every year.

The message behind it is always the same: Rethink your consumption. Not as a sacrifice, but as a conscious choice.

And what does that have to do with smartphones?

A lot. The electronics industry is one of the most resource-intensive in the world. A single new smartphone consumes more energy and raw materials during production than most of us realize. Rare earths, water, CO₂.

That doesn’t have to be the case. At least not always.

A refurbished device saves up to 70% of CO₂ emissions compared to buying new. This is not a compromise, it’s a smart choice.

What you can specifically do

Maybe you have an old device lying around that still works or at least still has value.

Our Trade-in campaign runs until May 3, 2026: Hand in your old device, get a fair value, and make space. For something better. For you and for the planet.
