Upcycling instead of recycling
Revendo was founded in Basel in 2013 to address a growing problem: more and more smartphones and computers are ending up in the trash, even though they still work. While recycling breaks devices down into their components, upcycling enhances them so they can be reused—saving resources, reducing energy consumption, and causing less air and water pollution. Millions of tons of electronic waste are generated worldwide each year, of which only about one-fifth is recycled. With every protected, longer-used, and refurbished device, we counteract the throwaway mentality.
