Upcycling instead of recycling
Revendo was founded in Basel in 2013 to solve a growing problem: more and more smartphones and computers are ending up in the trash even though they still work. While recycling involves breaking devices down into their components, upcycling enhances them so they can continue to be used—in a way that conserves more resources, saves energy, and causes less air and water pollution. Millions of tonnes of electronic waste are generated worldwide every year, of which only around one-fifth is recycled. With every protected, longer-used, and refurbished device, we help counter the throwaway mentality.
